Dr. Stephen Fichman is a well-known and respected eye surgeon who has been in active practice in Montreal for 30 years. He is a graduate of McGill University Medical School where he is now an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology. He completed his eye training at Baylor University in Houston, Texas where he specialized in contact lens fitting and design. A recognized teacher of cataract surgery and laser refractive surgery at McGill University, he has made several scientific presentations at various international meetings.

A diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Fichman is a member of The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, as well as an active member of various local and international scientific organizations. He is also a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons (Canada).

The founding Medical Director of the Montreal LaserVision Centre, Dr. Fichman has been actively involved in laser refractive surgery since 1992. At present he is the founder and Medical Director of the LaserImage Centre in Montreal.

Dr. Fichman's experience in PRK and LASIK is extensive, having performd more than two thousand cases for the correction of myopia, astigmatism and hyperopia.
